Just 900 feet from the All Good storefront,
a mature 20 foot city tree was deliberately cut down — not by storm, not by age, but by human hands. A city tree is a protected piece of our shared canopy. The community – from the streets of Flatbush Brooklyn to Facebook groups – are rightfully outraged, and so is All Good.
This wasn’t just a tree. It was a living symbol of Brooklyn’s resilience grown out of concrete — shade for our summers, oxygen for our lungs, beauty for our block. When someone destroys that, we all lose a little piece of what makes this borough breathe.
🌿 Trees are The Roots of Flatbush
Flatbush wasn’t always concrete and storefronts. The neighborhood’s name comes from the “flat woods.” Once part of a thriving farming region called the Flatlands, this area was covered in fertile soil, crops, and thick forests that helped define the earliest communities of Brooklyn.
Over the centuries, industrialization, development, and neglect have thinned that once-vast canopy. Today, Flatbush’s tree cover is among the lowest in the borough, and as climate change brings rising temperatures and flooding to our Brooklyn streets, those remaining trees aren’t just scenery — they’re infrastructure. They cool our neighborhoods, filter pollution, absorb stormwater, and support mental and physical well-being for everyone who lives here.
That’s why the loss of even one mature tree matters. A single street tree can store up to 800 pounds of carbon and intercept thousands of gallons of stormwater each year. When we cut one down, we undo decades of quiet work that nature has been doing for free.
🌱 Sustainability Is in Our Roots
At All Good Cannabis Dispensary, we’ve built our business for decades on respect for plants and the planet. Our roots in permaculture and sustainable farming run deep, shaping everything from how we source our products to how we operate day-to-day.
We partner with small New York farms that grow cannabis with integrity — cultivating in living soil, using organic practices, and respecting the ecosystems that sustain us. Inside our shop, we minimize waste through thoughtful packaging, recycling initiatives, and partnerships with local vendors who share our values.
For us, sustainability isn’t a trend. It’s All Good’s way of life — a blueprint for ensuring that the next generation inherits a greener, healthier Brooklyn.
🌳 Turning Outrage Into Action
When a tree falls in Brooklyn, our response should never be silence. That’s why we’re channeling our frustration into something positive.

This winter season, 20% of every sale from the All Good X RealTree Hat collection will go directly to NYC Parks’ “Dedicate a Tree” program, which helps plant new trees and fund reforestation projects right here in our city.
The program allows residents and businesses to dedicate a new tree in a park or along a street, supporting the Forestry Division’s work to restore our urban forest. Donations also help install protective tree guards and maintain the sidewalks that surround them.
Our goal is simple: to replace what was lost — and to grow something lasting in its place.
💚 Growing the Future, Together
We’re proud to call Flatbush home. It’s where we work, where we invest, and where we’re determined to give back. The strength of a neighborhood isn’t measured in buildings or businesses, but in how it cares for the living things that share its space.
Every tree we plant is a quiet act of defiance — a statement that we won’t let carelessness or greed define our environment. We’ll keep fighting for green spaces, supporting sustainable practices, and encouraging others to do the same.
Because the truth is simple: when a tree falls in Brooklyn, our community rises to plant another.
Stay rooted.
Stay All Good.
