Family-Owned Dispensary Opens in Flatbush: A New Chapter for Local Cannabis Culture

Flatbush has officially welcomed its first legal cannabis dispensary with the grand opening of All Good, a family-owned business that embodies the motto: Good Plants. Good People. Good Life. It is All Good’s mission to bring “Legal Safe Clean Cannabis for our Communities.” Located near Brooklyn College, the store represents more than just a place to buy cannabis—it is a movement rooted in wellness, social equity, and community care.

The Grand Opening Event

Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting – All Good Dispensary

On April 11, 2025, All Good Dispensary opened its doors to a crowd of excited community members, neighbors, cannabis advocates, and curious first-time consumers. The ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3405 Avenue H, Brooklyn, NY marked the official launch, making All Good the first dispensary to serve the neighborhood.

From flower and edibles to vape cartridges and concentrates, All Good’s shelves feature a curated selection of New York-grown products. As Owner & CEO Shannon Riley shared at the event, “Our motto is Good Plants, Good People, Good Life and that’s why we’re so proud to make sure our shelves won’t be lined with corporate cannabis, but will be a place for New Yorkers to get some of the best cannabis in the world, grown by NEW YORK small farms and microbusinesses.”

A Veteran-Owned Business with Purpose

Behind All Good are two passionate co-founders: Sean Robinson, a U.S. Army veteran and long-time cannabis cultivator, and Shannon Riley, a yoga teacher and former school teacher. Sean’s path into cannabis was deeply personal—after losing his mother to a prescription drug overdose and witnessing the effects of pharmaceuticals on fellow veterans, he became an advocate for safe, plant-based alternatives.

“We’re not just opening a retail store,” Shannon emphasized, “but hoping to build a community within the community and make sure 21+ adults can get the best, locally grown cannabis.”

With decades of experience in the cannabis industry, Sean brings deep expertise and purpose to the dispensary’s operations, creating a space where wellness and community are at the forefront of everything All Good does.

Championing New York’s Small Farms and Microbusinesses

All Good proudly prioritizes cannabis grown and manufactured exclusively in New York State, with a focus on supporting small farms and microbusinesses. By sourcing high-quality craft cannabis locally, the dispensary is directly contributing to the growth of a sustainable and equitable cannabis economy in New York state.

This approach not only ensures freshness and traceability for consumers but also empowers small-scale cultivators who are often overlooked by larger, corporate-dominated operations. “We’re about real cannabis grown by real New Yorkers,” said Shannon Riley. “It’s the heart of what we stand for.”

The Neighborhood’s Growing Role in the Cannabis Industry

The community surrounding All Good has long been a cornerstone of New York City’s cannabis culture. With All Good’s opening, the location is poised to become a hub for wellness-based and community-rooted cannabis experiences.

As the first licensed dispensary in the neighborhood, All Good sets a precedent for how cannabis businesses can thrive while staying true to their local roots. The shop’s proximity to Brooklyn College also offers opportunities to engage younger adults and college communities in responsible cannabis use and education.

Legalization and Licensing Landscape in New York

New York’s cannabis legalization journey has been marked by challenges and delays, especially for small and social equity license holders. All Good’s successful launch represents a breakthrough for independent operators navigating the state’s complex regulatory process.

By achieving licensure and opening its doors, All Good demonstrates that small businesses with purpose and passion can compete and lead in New York’s regulated cannabis market. This milestone is not just a business win—it’s a signal of progress for community-first small business cannabis ventures across the state.

The Dispensary Experience: What Customers Can Expect

All Good is a new kind of Cannabis ordering experience and was built to feel welcoming and inclusive to all, whether you’re a longtime cannabis consumer or just beginning to explore. We’ve reimagined the traditional dispensary layout by eliminating bulky display cases and embracing an entirely new way of ordering. Inspired by the familiar and comforting formats of your favorite diner menu, classic movie marquee, and personal conversations with our knowledgeable neighborhood budtenders, the experience is designed to feel both fresh and approachable. Our goal is to make choosing cannabis products feel natural, informative, and community-driven from the moment you walk in the door.

Educational signage and staff recommendations make navigating the wide range of products approachable, while also ensuring compliance and safety. There’s a strong emphasis on consumer empowerment—ensuring everyone leaves with not just a product, but with confidence in their choice.

Community Engagement and Outreach

Beyond retail, All Good is rooted in service. The dispensary plans to host workshops, town halls, and wellness events to educate the public about cannabis. From safe usage to expungement education, the focus is on raising awareness and strengthening community ties.

Co-founder Shannon Riley envisions a multi-functional wellness destination in the future: “We’re committed to showing how cannabis can support physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.”

Supporting Social Equity in Cannabis

All Good is a Social Equity Cannabis license holder. Sean Robinson’s military background and firsthand experience with the consequences of pharmaceutical dependence underscore the need for safe, plant-based alternatives. The store actively supports initiatives to elevate small businesses, women owned businesses, veterans and BIPOC entrepreneurs within the cannabis space.

By sourcing from underrepresented growers and participating in New York’s equity-focused licensing framework, All Good stands as a living example of what a just cannabis future can look like.
